Like most treatments, there are different methods of body contouring. The most common methods are:
- This method involves freezing fat cells to destroy them. While it was considered the most effective method when it first debuted, more effective methods have since come out. Plus, this type of body contouring can take hours to complete and is difficult to customize around the patient.
- Liposonix was the next device to come out and is more effective than CoolSculpting. But, this type of body contouring can only get an inch of fat and can cause discomfort and slight pain during treatment.
- At Dermatology Specialists of Charlotte, we use Vanquish for our body contouring. This treatment uses heat to melt away fat cells. Unlike other treatments, it does not require contact with your body and can treat large areas at once so you don’t need as many treatment sessions. Plus, it can be customized to your body.
How it works
Body contouring using Vanquish is a quick and pain-free process. Sensors in the machine read your body fat and calculate the amount of energy the machine needs to deliver during your treatment. It then uses energy to heat up your skin and its underlying fat to the appropriate temperatures. This heat is what destroys fat cells, permanently.
Your body contouring treatment will last about 30 minutes. And though you may see results after, you will likely need a few treatments to achieve the results you want. Your doctor will be able to discuss this with you after a consultation.
It can treat multiple areas
We all store fat in different places. So, you may want to get body contouring in different areas of your body. Vanquish can be used to help you lose inches in your abdomen, love handles, and even your legs. Leaving you looking and feeling your best.
